Check permission first
A video being public does not automatically give everyone permission to reuse it. Save work you created, or ask the creator before keeping or using someone else’s clip.
The creator may turn off downloads. If TikTok does not show a Save video option, respect that choice and do not try to get around it.
Use a trusted link
Copy a link directly from the post’s Share menu. Avoid pages that ask you to install an unknown app, sign in with TikTok, or share your account password.
Know what happens to your link
A third-party downloader may send a post URL to an external provider to resolve the media. Read the tool’s privacy details and the provider’s policy before using it.
